Loei is located among various-sized mountain ranges of the Northeast. It has a very beautiful natural surrounding with numerous high hills and mountain and has many things in commom with the Northern region such as windy foggy and cool climate. It is the only province in Thailand which has the dubious distinction of the mercury plummeting to zero Celcius.

This province has interesting Buddhist architectures and temples and many nature resorts and national parks, such as Phu Kradueng, Phu Luang, Phu Pha Man, etc. The most distinctive festival of Loei is Phi Ta Khon. |
