Ayuthaya is a shortly call of "Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya" which is a historical city located in the basin of Chao Phraya River. Both sides of the river offer a scene of classic old architectures and teak houses. |

This old city was a Siamese capital for longest period, 417 years (1350 - 1767). Ayuthaya is a great old city where tourists can bike around and can also cruise along the river of history by boat. |
Ayuthaya was a second Siamese capital which was founded in 1893, by King U- Thong (Ramathibodi I). It was ruled by 33 kings of 5 dynasties, U-Thong, Suwannaphum, Sukhothai, Prasat Thong, Ban Phlu Luang.
Ayuthaya was one of Indo-China's most prosperous cities of trading and state affair. The grandeur of Ayutthaya is reflected by numerous magnificent structures, ruins, and crumbling fortresses concentrated in and around the city island surrounded by the Chao Phraya, Pasak and Lop Buri Rivers.

This old city is well conserved as a UNESCO world heritage site, listed since 13 Dec. 1991. Main tourism spots in this large historical park are Wat Panan Choeng, Wat Si San Phet, Wat Mahathat, Wat Ratchaburana, Phu Khao Thong, the Chao Sam Phraya National Museum, etc.
