Phechaburi is a central province besides the gulf of Thailand. The west of the province locates many mountainous complexes. The Tanao Si mountain range borders to Myan Mar. The east is a plain stretching to the shores at the gulf of Thailand. Three important rivers are Petchaburi River, Bang Kloi River, Bang Tabun River. Most people are agriculturists and there are many orchards, farms and fishing villages here. |

It used to be an important fort town of Ayuthaya Kingdom. It was formerly called by many name such as Muang Phribphli, Muang Petchphli, etc. The town's name was wrote in the Sukhothai's inscription no. 1 and there are many traces, aged from Khmer and Dvaravati periods. |
Petchaburi is well known for exotic sweets and many famous attractions such as the Buddha-filled Khao Luang Caves, the hilltop Phra Nakhon Khiri palace, the lovely Wat Suwanaram with its Ayutthayan meeting hall, murals and scriptural repository, the mountainous, scenically arresting Kaeng Krachan which is Thailand's largest national park, and the Chao Sam Ran beach.
