| Mangosteen
is the “Queen of Fruits”, offering the good blend of sweet and
a very pleasant flavor. Inside its thick, dark-red skin, the pure
white pulp offers a nice sweet, slightly tart flavor that considered
the best tasting.
Native to Southeast Asia, Thai mangosteen has strongly
attracted visitors and exported to many countries around the world.
Southern Thailand is the home of the mangosteen.
Surat Thani is one of the provinces where they appear on markets
in May and continues through most of the rainy season.
Mangosteen is high in calcium, phosphorus, vitamins
B and C. Just use a knife slitting around the middle to easily
open it and the flesh can be eaten with a fork as a memorable
after-meal treat.
