like to eat sticky rice in Kratip (bamboo basket). They
roll of rice gently in fingers and eat with spicy salads,
grilled meat and soup. The region is very famous in
spicy salads, for examples:
Som Tum (the most well-known
spicy green papaya salad)
Pla Kung (spicy prawn salad)
Larb (spicy meat salad)
In cooking, they use tamarind
juice, olive or red ant's egg for the sour taste. And
they have Plara, a special fermented fish paste that
has salty taste and strong fishy smell. It is used for
seasoning while cooking or making sauce for grilled
meat (Jaew).
For tourists, Moo Yong
(processed pork ribbons) and Moo Paen (processed pork
slices) are also famous foods to buy in the region.
